4th of July

We went north for the 4^th of July to visit with Brian & Lori again.  Rachel remembered everyone from a couple of weeks ago and was even able to see Granny Great again!  We had another first while were there…it was fireworks!  Jake was so excited to see how Rachel would react to fireworks.  We got in our jammies and went out at bed time.  Rachel got to stay up a whole hour later than normal!  She did so well with the bright light fireworks, but was not so interested in the loud ones.  We don’t have any pictures of her during fireworks though.  Jake also couldn’t wait to show her Pop-Its!  We’re not sure if she liked the Pop-Its! or Jake jumping around with them better!

This time, we brought swimsuits and I had a chance to go on the tube with my cousins while Rachel napped on the beach.  Last time we were there, Hannah went on the tube and didn’t get wet at all.  I could’ve gone with her in my clothes!  This time, the results were the same for Hannah and even Samantha.  Tabitha and I had a much different outcome!

After we had been sufficiently bounced on the tube, we headed for the pool.  Earlier, Lori and I had searched two different stores for a little swimsuit for Rachel earlier, but only found one that was kind of cute.  We decided to forego the swimsuit and just use a swim diaper and a onesie.

Rachel was still napping when we got to the pool, so everyone got in without her.  Scott and I sat by the pool soaking up sun and watching the kids play.  Every couple of minutes, someone would come over and ask if Rachel was awake.  Unfortunately, she was not.  That girl can sleep!  We finally decided to wake her up and get her ready to swim.

The cousins were so excited!  The lifeguard even commented that he had never seen kids flock to something in the pool so quickly.  We had so much fun playing with the cousins and can’t wait to go for another visit!
