Ogden Temple Rededication

We had the opportunity to attend the Ogden Temple Rededication open house with the girls. We drive by the temple often since it is just down the street…we literally live on the same street! Rachel loved the temple so much that she asked to go through it again. Since there was another week left, we did! Our ward also had the chance to participate in being volunteers for the open house. Sign-ups went around months ago, so by the time we arrived, found out about it, and then talked to our bishop, there weren’t any spots left. The Sunday before our volunteer day, someone bailed though! I was so excited! I didn’t even stop to wonder why someone might bail on their assignment.

We were able to push people in wheelchairs through the temple. They had around 500 people/day going through in wheelchairs and had to have people push them through. During our 4-hr shift, we each pushed 4-5 people through the temple. It was such an amazing experience! If we weren’t pushing people through, we had to take all of the little booties (Rach calls them cloud slippers) out of the boxes to prep for those who put them on everyone’s feet. They were going through 44,000 booties/day! That’s 22,000 people each day going through the open house! We are so excited about the temple rededication even though there are more nearby. We didn't anticipated being here for all of this excitement and it has been utter joy!
