2 Months Old

Rachel is 2-months old today.  We went to the doctor and had several immunizations done.  She is growing well and progressing ahead of what is expected.  The doctor noted she is very alert for her age and tracks extremely well with her eyes.  As he did his exam, she laid there smiling and talking to him.  Rachel constantly keeps us on our toes already!  She has been moving in her bed since she was about 3-weeks old.  Last week, I went to pick her up and she had scooted to the other end of her bed and turned a full 90-degrees.  She is smiling so much and has started chattering even more!  I woke up to her a couple of nights ago talking in her bed.  This was such a nice change to the hungry cry that I normally hear.  Rachel has also proven to be a fast learner!  When she was born, Lindsay told us to slowly stick our tongue out at her and she would imitate it.  She picked that up as well as clicking her tongue.  A couple weeks ago, we laid her on her stomach with her arms above her head.  She promptly rolled to her back!  Scott then encouraged her to do it again, with me groaning on the sidelines!  We should not be encouraging this so early.

Weight: 9 lb 3.6 oz (13%- remember…she was just little when she was born.  The doctor was very pleased with her weight as she is following a perfect curve for weight.)
Height: 22.25 inches (47%- when I was 35 weeks pregnant, my doctor predicted a long baby.  She is holding true to this, as well.)
Head circumference: 37 cm
As you can see, Rachel is still just little!  We are pleased to announce that she finally graduated from newborn diapers to size 1 last week!  If you ask Scott, he’ll tell you they’re still really loose on her and I just got tired of buying the newborn diapers for our 2-month old.  (The tabs reach from one hip to the other.)
